The increased prices targeted by Spanish rebar producers have not yet gained acceptance in their local market where end-user demand is currently low. Thus, in the local Spanish market, both medium sized rebar offers and sales levels (concluded below the producers' list price levels) are standing in the range of about €375-380/mt ($523-530/mt) delivered to customer, excluding VAT, on actual weight basis and for 15-30 day deferred payments.

On the export side, where international competition is experienced due to the demand coming from certain regions, the Spanish mills' rebar export offers given at €360/mt ($502/mt) FOB in previous weeks have not found acceptance; as a result, the mills are currently offering rebar for export at the levels of €340-350/mt ($474-488/mt) FOB. Facing competition from other southern European mills in Algeria, the Spanish mills are offering rebar to this country at the level of €360/mt ($502/mt) C&F Algeria.
