Demand still very slack in Italian domestic rebar market

Sources polled by SteelOrbis a week ago reported that Italian domestic producers' local rebar prices were in the range of €435-445/mt ($561-574/mt) ex-works, whereas their prices now seem to have settled mainly in the range of €425-435/mt ($548-561/mt) ex-works.

Unfortunately, domestic demand for rebar remains very slack, while poor sales in the finished steel market have also contributed to the lack of price increases in the scrap market, as reported at the beginning of September.
