While Turkish wire rod exporters last week faced postponements of purchases by buyers in overseas markets, buyers have this week returned to the market following the year-end holidays and have resumed their purchases of Turkish wire rod exports in line with their needs.

Accordingly, demand for Turkish wire rod in the export markets has revived slightly in the current week. Meanwhile, Turkish steel producers have passed on the rises in their production costs to their wire rod export offers, increasing them by an average of $5/mt week on week to $460-470/mt FOB.
