SteelOrbis has been informed that an ex-Ukraine deal was concluded in Lebanon last week for 20,000 mt of rebar at $400/mt FOB. Although Lebanese buyers have been showing greater interest in Chinese rebar offers, they still conclude deals for small tonnages from the CIS countries.

On the other hand, Chinese rebar offers to Lebanon have declined by $15/mt over the past month to $350-360/mt CFR. Market sources state that cash problems have continued to increase in Lebanese market in the same period and so transaction activity for Chinese rebar has slowed down accordingly.

Also, no new rebar offers have been heard from Turkey to Lebanon during the past month, while market sources state that they have not heard of any new deals concluded for Turkish rebar in the Lebanese market in the past month.
