According to market sources, ex-CIS billet offers to Turkey have remained unchanged over the past week at $285-290/mt CFR, for December shipment. Meanwhile, Chinese billet offers to Turkey have decreased by $5/mt week on week to the range of $250-255/mt CFR. Market players think that ex-CIS billet offers to Turkey will likely decrease in the coming days, due to pressure from the ongoing decline of Chinese billet prices. Even though CIS billet suppliers have found it difficult to conclude sales to Turkey since their prices are considered to be on the high side, demand for ex-CIS billet in Egypt is at medium levels and deals are being concluded at $285-295/mt CFR. Meanwhile, Turkish buyers booked approximately 300,000 mt of Chinese billet in November and these cargos are expected to be shipped to Turkish ports in December.
