According to an official statement issued by the local authorities in China's Tangshan Province, local steel producers will cut their production rates by 30-50 percent during the August 16-31 period with the aim of reducing air pollution. Following this statement, Chinese billet export prices have increased by $15/mt compared to the price levels recorded yesterday, August 15, to the range of $350-360/mt FOB.
