Domestic long steel demand in Bulgaria has remained moderate with buyers dealing only to cover their urgent needs. As a result, local suppliers have managed to increase their rebar prices just slightly compared to the previous month, while in the wire rod and merchant bar segments offers have gone down.

Currently, domestic rebar prices in Bulgaria are at BGN 870-890/mt (€445-455/mt) CPT, up by only BGN 10/mt (€5/mt) on the higher end since early April. This price range is valid for both Stomana Industries and Promet for rebar sales from the mills’ stocks. In the meantime, BGN 855-865/mt (€437-442/mt) CPT is applicable for traders’ offers.

Bulgaria’s domestic wire rod prices have decreased by BGN 20/mt (€5/mt) over the same period to BGN 890-900 (€455-460/mt) CPT, while the price range for merchant bars is at BGN 950-1020 (€486-522/mt) CPT, down by BGN 10/mt (€5/mt) on the lower end.
