Domestic longs prices in Bulgaria have increased by BGN 20-50/mt (€10-26/mt) depending on the product group, supported by the positive sentiment in the international import scrap segment and costlier energy across Europe. Sources report that demand has been sluggish and that most buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases in order to monitor the raw material segment trends.
In the export segment, last week ex-Turkey merchant bar offers were standing at €730/mt CIF, while beams were available at €885-940/mt FOB or around €915-970/mt CIF Bulgaria, SteelOrbis estimates. In addition, beams from Italy and Spain were at €1,000/mt CIF last week. Recent offers from southern Europe are expected to be around €20/mt higher in line with the higher production costs.
