A source from a Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that wire rod export prices, stable since December 2016, could see an increase in April.

The source mentioned that an average 10 percent increase, originally scheduled for March 1, was postponed, but it will have to be adopted to put prices in line with the domestic prices at Brazil’s most important destinations: the US and South American countries.

For now, the most recent Brazilian wire rod export deals remain closed in average at $605/mt for the drawing grade product and $587/mt for the mesh grade product, FOB conditions.
