According to market sources, rebar prices in the local Turkish spot market have increased by around TRY 10-45/mt since June 25, though prices on US dollar basis have declined by a maximum of $8/mt on the high end while increasing by a maximum of $9/mt on the lower end, due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate. Market players state that the increases recorded in traders' prices despite the sluggish demand are artificial and are just a strategy to boost transaction activity in the market.
