Import tonnages for US import hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip have fallen by about 30 percent from levels seen in July.  According to US import license data (as of Aug. 25), import tonnages came in at 198,819 mt (license data), which is down substantially from the 317,344 mt (preliminary census data) seen in July.  Trader sources speculate there are still tons that are on the water.  Other sources close to SteelOrbis question how many of those position tons are already spoken for.  “The market is slow and everyone is out there fighting for orders,” said another source.  “It’s rough.”
