It’s been a little over a week since the US DOC announced they would be proceeding with AD / CVD investigations against certain offshore producers of coated steel products and this week, the US is still wondering which mills in which countries will step up with new offers.

Trader sources are still complaining about the supply glut; there have been a number of coated steel shipments that have arrived at US Gulf Coast ports in recent weeks and it’s speculated that there may still be quite a few tons on the water.   Sources continue to report that Brazilian mills are still chasing heavy-gauge HDG coil orders, but pricing on light-gauge grades are still trending quiet.
