Little, if anything has changed within the US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume coil markets since our last report a week ago. Trader sources continue to maintain dialogue with potential new sources, although current US inventory levels are high enough that no immediate orders need to be placed.
The most notable event of the past week, though, is that US mills have petitioned for critical circumstances in the recently filed trade case.
Interest in futures is still trending light, according to sources, who also report that Brazilian mills are “still chasing orders on heavy-gauge products.”
