he most commonly reported spot price transaction ranges for US domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume coil have corrected by an additional $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) since our last report a week ago, which brings the current most commonly reported spot price transaction range to $23.50-$24.50 cwt. ($518-$540/mt or $480-$500/nt), ex-Midwest mill. The deals that were reported last week had grown in prevalence, according to SteelOrbis, which helped contribute to the additional price correction.
As with last week, US domestic mills continue to be hungry for orders, especially in light of the recent and still-falling capacity utilization rates. Buyers, on the other hand, say they are still wary about booking tons due to fears that additional price corrections could be on the horizon.
