US plate spot market prices tick down for the second week in a row

Last week, SteelOrbis reported that US domestic plate prices had fallen from $76.50 cwt. ($1,687/mt or $1,530/nt), FOB mill during the first week of October, to an average of $73-$74 cwt. ($1,609-$1,631/mt or $1,460-$1,480/nt), FOB mill. This week, prices have softened by another $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt). As such the new average price range is now being heard at roughly $71-$73 cwt. ($1,565-$1,587/mt or $1,420-$1,440/nt), FOB mill.
