Still-volatile pricing for Chinese hot rolled coil continues to have buyers and sellers of US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume coil keeping a close watch on the global market.
“Prices are stable in the past week but offshore mills are still evaluating their input costs on a daily basis,” a source said. “Chinese hot rolled costs have spiked since June and everyone is trying to base their costs off where that number might stabilize. It’s hard to pinpoint an exact price for import HDG because some mills have pulled offers to they can re-evaluate their costs.”
Current pricing for imported 0.012”x40.875” G30 hot dipped galvanized (HDG) coil, imported 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume coil in the US domestic market, and imported 0.012”x40.875” G30 hot dipped galvanized (HDG) coil in the US domestic market are listed in the chart below.
