Comparing US import prices for hot dipped galvanized (HDG) from India and China from levels seen last week to the ranges seen today, a firm, across the board sideways trend is apparent. However, “Chinese mills seem to still have no concern when it comes to poking the bear,” according to trader sources, who point out that offer prices from China are still well below what is available within the US domestic market and that there “are deals to be had.” In terms of Indian mills, traders say that order activity and inquiries have seem relatively stable in the past seven days, with no real changes expected to take place in the near future.
