The offers to US-based traders for imported 0.012”x40.875” G30 hot dipped galvanized (HDG) coil from offshore providers have finally resumed and thus, US-based traders have resumed offering imported 0.012”x40.875” G30 coil in the US domestic market from Pakistan and the UAE; sources close to SteelOrbis have also confirmed that 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume coil from Brazil in the US domestic market are newly available.
At the current time, imported 0.019” x48” G90 HDG coil offers continue to trend quiet.
Current offer prices for 0.012”x40.875” G30 coil in the US domestic market from Pakistan and the UAE are being heard a $43-$44 cwt. ($948-$970/mt or $860-$880/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports; the last heard price for 0.012”x40.875” G30 coil in the US domestic market from these countries was heard in early-November, before offshore mills’ pulled their offers to US-based traders so they could re-evaluate their input costs.
Current pricing is $4.00 cwt. ($88/mt or $80/nt) higher on the low end and $3.00 cwt. ($66/mt or $60/nt) higher on the top end, than pricing heard early last month.
The newly heard offer prices for 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume in the US domestic market from Brazil are being heard a $42-$44 cwt. ($926-$970/mt or $840-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
US domestic flat rolled steel mills have implemented four price increases since late-October, which has helped spur interest imported steel.
