Prices within the US domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) may have held steady since our last report a week ago, but price softening could be on the horizon. US scrap prices came down approximately $15/lt this month and the expectation is that prices will come down again in April. Not only is this expected to spill over to US domestic hot rolled coil prices, it could also continue to trickle down the line to HDG. For now, buyers are holding off on making any stock buys and are instead taking a wait-and-see approach based on uncertain market conditions.
