Spot prices within the US domestic plate market may have held mostly stable since our last report two weeks ago, but sources say that deals below the most common transaction range of $41.50-$42.50 cwt.  ($915-$937/mt or $930-$950/nt) ex-Midwest mill are starting to permeate the market. SteelOrbis has also learned that one larger Midwest-based service center placed their monthly order with a US domestic plate mill with “price to be determined.” Although many believe that the market could endure some additional $1.50-$3.00 cwt. ($33-$66/mt or $30-$60/nt) correction prior to things starting to level out, the million dollar question seems to be where the final numbers will land.

In terms of imports, Turkish offer prices are mostly unchanged in the past two weeks, still at $37.00-$38.00 cwt. ($816-$838/mt or $740-$760/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast ports, although trader sources say they are hearing about an increasing number of deals that are available to anyone who is looking to book a larger order.
