Although the most commonly reported ex-Midwest mill transaction range for US domestic base price hot dipped galvanized (HDG) has for the most part remained neutral since our last report a week ago, SteelOrbis sources say that range is flexible, on both ends, depending on the tonnage amounts you’re looking to buy. Those looking to book smaller orders are still paying a little bit more, according to one Midwest service center, although those interested in something sizeable may be able to negotiate a slightly better price. For now, though, the current most common range is still holding at $37.00-$39.00 cwt. ($816-$860/mt or $840-$860/nt) ex-mill, with order activity and inquiries remaining on par with where they were one week ago.
