Over the past week, demand from buyers in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained at low levels, while domestic HDG prices have started to move up as a result of the rises in hot rolled coil (HRC) and raw material quotations. Demand is not expected to indicate any revival before the referendum to be held on April 16. Additionally, market sources believe that domestic HDG prices may continue their upward movement if the rises seen in HRC quotations continue in the coming days.
Domestic producers' HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | Change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 750-770 | +60 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 705-720 | +60 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 670-675 | +60 |
Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets is still strong, supporting the rises made by Turkish producers in their HDG export offer prices in line with the increases recorded in the local Turkish HDG market. Accordingly, Turkish producers' HDG offers to the export markets have moved up by $70/mt week on week to $740-760/mt FOB.
