During the week ending April 20, mainstream quotations of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved sideways. There has been some slight pickup in market activity but demand is still relatively slack. Average prices of PPGI in China can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.
Although a few PPGI traders in China have raised their offers, they have not managed to attract buyers yet. As construction activities recover, demand for PPGI has been released to some extent. However, most traders are still keeping their offers unchanged in order to attract more orders. Market insiders expect that in the coming month PPGI demand will probably decrease given the relatively weak demand in the current season which is traditionally the peak period for business. At present, domestic traders are still cautious about their purchasing plans. It is expected that prices of PPGI in China will remain stable in the coming week.
