Buyers in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market are still concluding purchases only in line with their needs, and so demand in the market has remained slack during the past week. According to market sources, buyers are still cautious and trading activity in the local Turkish PPGI market is expected maintain its slow pace. With domestic prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for PPGI production - remaining stable in the past week, Turkish PPGI producers have kept their prices unchanged this week. Accordingly, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $790-855/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $660-700/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $540-605/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
Meanwhile, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export markets is also at low levels amid the ongoing stagnation of activity during the summer holiday season, while ex-Turkey PPGI offers have moved sideways in the range of $630-680/mt FOB.
