Turkish PPGI prices continue to move sideways

Demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market is still slack this week. Due to strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira following the coup attempt on July 15, trading activity in the market has slowed down. Amid the ongoing political tension in the country, buyers are still cautious about concluding bookings and demand for domestic PPGI has remained weak. Against the backdrop of such market conditions, Turkish PPGI producers have maintained their price levels unchanged this week. Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $800-855/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $670-700/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $550-605/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export markets is still weak and Turkish PPGI export prices have remained stable week on week in the range of $650-700/mt FOB.
