During the past week, efforts to increase domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in Turkey have been successful, while buyers have stepped up their price inquiries for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil due to higher production costs. Accordingly, demand in the local Turkish HDG market has increased to medium levels, while domestic HDG prices in Turkey have increased by $10/mt week on week.

Domestic producers' HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

650-670

10

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

590-600

10

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

555-570

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

On the other hand, trading activity in the global HRC market has increased in the current week, causing demand and prices for Turkish HRC to move up, which has also resulted in higher costs for Turkish HDG exporters. As a result, Turkish HDG exporters have increased their offers by $10/mt week on week to the range of $630-660/mt FOB.
