Domestic coated and cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in Turkey have fallen significantly over the past fortnight, under pressure from low trade, the unstable HRC market situation and overall negative sentiment. Local buyers continue their purchases only according to their urgent needs and are trying to avoid risks.

As a result, the local HDG base price in Turkey has decreased by $45-50/mt over the mentioned period to $910-960/mt ex-works. Offers for pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) have lost $45/mt on the lower end to $1,050-1,100/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned.

In the CRC segment, Turkey’s domestic prices have fallen by $50-60/mt over the past two weeks and the product is now available at $810-850/mt ex-works depending on the supplier. Some sources report that levels around $800/mt ex-works are also available.
