Turkey’s re-rolling companies have pretty much stabilized their pricing over two weeks, despite the attempts of the local mills to increase their hot-rolled coil (HRC) offers. The limited number of sales restrains the coated and cold-rolled (CR) steel suppliers from increasing their prices, though some of them have started to refuse providing discounts from the official price levels. On exports, however, the workable price levels for Turkish flat steel remain lower than in the domestic market due to less orders and absent European customers.

Currently, the domestic hot-dip galvanized (HDG) offers are at $820-860/mt ex-works depending on the supplier with some discounts available from the higher end of the range and stable over the week. In the export segment, however, the workable price levels are closer to $800-840/mt FOB base. Turkey’s local PPGI offers are at $930-970/mt ex-works from most of the re-rollers, $10/mt up from the upper end of the range. On exports, the same material is available at $910-950/mt FOB, SteelOrbis understands.

In the meantime, the domestic tinplate ices have fallen drastically over fortnight – by around $100/mt to $900-950/mt ex-works depending on the supplier and the order size.

In the CRC segment, the domestic offers are mainly at $750-780/mt ex-works and up to $800/mt ex-works in some targets versus $750-790/mt ex-works seen in the past week. On exports, according to sources, around $30/mt lower levels are available for negotiation.
