Players within the US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume market say that rumors of a potential trade case against offshore producers are getting louder, and as such, they are exercising caution with their buys. Import prices may, for the most part, have trended sideways in the past seven days but those who are buying say they’re only placing orders on an as-needed basis. SteelOrbis sources have further indicated that Indian mills are still sticking to their line in the sand when it comes to prices, and are not interested in negotiating deals based on tonnage.
