Demand in the Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has remained on the slack side over the past two weeks, while prices have increased by $10/mt in this period. Prior to the Ramadan holiday, market players in the local Turkish PPGI market have slowed down their purchases significantly, while the new domestic price levels have been found to be on the high side.

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,030-1,080/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $890-940/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $810-850/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, demand for Turkish PPGI exports has remained at medium levels over the past two weeks. The new export PPGI prices have also been found to be on the high side by buyers after last week's $10/mt increase. Ex-Turkey PPGI offers, meanwhile, are at $875-925/mt FOB, for August production.
