During the week ending August 3, in the Chinese domestic market average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have continued their rising trend, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, ferrous metal futures prices in China have generally increased, providing a certain degree of support for CRC prices in the spot market. Meanwhile, the rising trend seen in semi-finished steel prices in China also exerts a positive impact on the local CRC market. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move up further in the coming week.
