Looking at the ex-works prices of April production flat products in the French domestic market, it is seen that offers have been given at considerably below the list prices depending on customers and tonnages. Accordingly, in the market in question, HRC base prices are at the level of €340-385/mt ($465-527/mt), decreasing by 38 percent year on year; base prices for CRC sales are at €420-465/mt ($575-636/mt), showing a decline of 37 percent as compared to last year; while HDG base prices are at €470-515/mt ($643-705/mt), reflecting a decline of 44 percent year on year. Although inventories are standing at high levels in the local market, the destocking process is very slow. On the import side, the competitiveness of Chinese origin offers has been weakening, while ex-Ukraine and ex-Russia offers have been at quite aggressive levels.
