Prices for Brazilian HRC and CRC remain stable, for now

HRC prices in the Brazilian export market (base commercial grades) are being closed at $600/mt, FOB port, while the price of CRC is currently being closed at $700/mt, under the same conditions, sources tell SteelOrbis.

The figure for HRC compares to $601/mt in average exported by the company in July, and $691/mt for CRC.

Meanwhile, HRC is being sold in the domestic market at the equivalent to $800/mt C&F conditions within Sao Paulo state, roughly stable over the last thirty days.

Analysts believe that the country’s price stability for flat products might not last much longer, chiefly due to the reduced demand from the local auto industry, but also reflecting the poor performance of the white products sector.
