Brazilian export prices for slab of the basic commercial grades remain traded this week at $425/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

In March, Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported slab at $403/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao at $449/mt and ThyssenKrupp CSA at $427/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in January.

Meanwhile, the Cubatao plant of Usiminas, located in the State of Sao Paulo, imported in March 33,200 mt of slab from Iran, at $360/mt, FOB conditions.

The Cubatao plant, a traditional slab exporter, is not operating its crude steel production facilities and is currently rolling outsourced slabs, usually supplied by Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem or by ThyssenKrupp CSA.
