The new base price for the negotiations for export of HRC of the basic commercial grades is now $430/mt, FOB conditions, a major exporter told SteelOrbis.

The price had peaked at $500/mt FOB in May, moving down to $420/mt last week, marking now the first increase in the period.

The source mentioned that it is too soon to identify an upward trend for the price, which in his view remains linked to export prices in China.

In June, ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported HRC at $348/mt, CSN at $449/mt, Usiminas at $568/mt and by Gerdau Acominas at $290/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in April.
