Brazilian slab producers have reportedly failed to close further export deals in the $560/mt to $570/mt range, FOB conditions, sources tell SteelOrbis.

That range was the price target for the last deals for shipment in October, as unveiled last week, but prices have apparently declined due to convergence of slab prices with those of other world regions.

According to a source, exporters will try this week to close fresh deals for shipment in October in the $550/mt to $560/mt FOB range.

In July, Brazil exported 463,700 mt of slab, in average at $750/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May.
