Poor demand in Vietnamese flat steel market

Demand in the Vietnamese flat steel market has been sluggish so far in the New Year, while local prices have remained unchanged since last week.
 
Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market, meanwhile, stand at $525-535/mt ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at $640-645/mt ex-works. Meanwhile, rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness is being quoted at $550-555/mt ex-warehouse.
 
On the other hand, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam are at $535-540/mt CFR, while offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness from China have moved up by $15/mt over the past week and now can be found in the range of $565-570/mt CFR.
