Offshore coated steel producers still jockeying for US orders

The US International Trade Commission last week voted to move forward with the anti-dumping investigation of corrosion-resistant steel products from certain offshore producers, which is certainly good news for mills in other countries who are looking to penetrate the US market.

Sources close to SteelOrbis continue to report that countries in both Southeast Asia and the EU are doing their best to lay groundwork with US traders and are wanting to develop these relationships sooner than later.  Other SteelOrbis sources, however, say  that inventories are still trending high and that interest in booking futures is scant.
