Nucor Plate Mill Group officially reduces spot market prices

Nucor Plate Mill Group today announced they’ll be reducing spot market prices for US domestic plate to $76.50 cwt. ($1,378/mt or $1,250/nt), FOB mill, which brings an end to their months-long steady state pricing.

Prior to today’s announcement, prices had been trending in the approximate range of $77.50-$78.50 cwt. ($1,709-$1,731/mt or $1,550-$1,570/nt), FOB mill, with most transactions taking place toward the top end of that range.
