Nucor follows AK Steel with flat rolled price increase

In a letter to customers Thursday, Nucor Sheet Mill Group said that "due to consistent demand for our product and continued raw material pressures, the Nucor Sheet Mill Group will increase base prices on all new orders." Hot-rolled, cold-rolled and Galvanized coil prices will increase $1.50 cwt. ($33/mt or $30/nt) effective immediately.

Nucor's announcement follows a $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt) price increase from AK Steel on Wednesday.
