On Friday, Nucor Sheet Mill Group sent a letter to customers indicating that as a result of increased order activity, it is raising base prices on hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized sheet by a minimum of $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt).

Also on Friday, AK Steel said it would increase current spot market base prices for all carbon flat-rolled steel products by $40 per ton, effective immediately with new orders.

The moves follow similar increases earlier in the week from Severstal North America, NLMK USA, US Steel and ArcelorMittal USA.
