Over the past week, demand from buyers in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained at low levels amid the ongoing political and economic uncertainties in Turkey, while it is not expected to indicate any revival before the referendum to be held on April 16.
However, Turkish coated coil producers are not expected to lower their domestic HDG prices despite the weakness ofdomestic demand since their export sales are satisfactory. On the contrary, market sources believe that, with the support of export sales, Turkish coated coil mills may increase their domestic HDG prices further if domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations continue to rise in the coming days.
Domestic producers' HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | Change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 750-770 | 0 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 705-720 | 0 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 670-675 | 0 |
Meanwhile, Turkish producers' HDG offers to the export markets have remained stable week on week at $740-760/mt FOB.
