Demand in the Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained slack over the past week. Market players state that last week's price increases by producers have been found to be higher than expected, though the new price levels will likely gain acceptance if demand increases after Ramadan.

In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices are as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

790-810

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

740-760

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

725-730

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

Demand for Turkish HDG exports has trended sideways at medium levels since last week, while buyers in the export markets also state that the new price levels issued last week are on the high side. July production Turkish HDG export prices have remained unchanged since last week at $775-790/mt FOB.
