During the week ending December 1, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have indicated a rising trend, while overall transaction activity in the market has been better than in the previous week and is now at decent levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, HRC prices in the domestic spot market have increased, providing support for the upward movement of domestic HDG prices. Many Chinese steelmakers have increased their offer prices for December shipment, exerting a positive impact on HDG prices in the spot market. As HDG inventories are on the low side in the market, it is thought that the Chinese domestic HDG market will likely continue to move on an upward trend in the coming week.
