Local Turkish PPGI prices continue to rise

Last week, prices in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market had increased by $15/mt week on week due to the upward trend of prices of domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for PPGI production. This week, demand for domestic PPGI in Turkey is at medium levels, while domestic producers’ local PPGI prices have risen by $10/mt week on week due to higher input costs resulting from the increases in global raw material prices and due to the ongoing rises in HRC quotations. Accordingly, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $905-950/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $755-775/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $645-690/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, demand for ex-Turkey PPGI in the export markets is still slack, while Turkish PPGI export offers have remained stable week on week at the range of $725-765/mt FOB.
