During the past week, trading activity in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market has slowed down slightly due to the coming holidays, starting tomorrow with the national Victory Day holiday on August 30 and continuing with the Feast of Sacrifice holiday (Aug. 31-Sept. 4). Meanwhile, Turkish coated steel mills have increased their prices further since their order books are fairly full and also due to the rises seen in domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices.

Accordingly, Turkish domestic PPGI prices have increased by $10/mt week on week, with RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI prices rising to $1,080-1,125/mt, with the price of RAL 9002 0.5 mm increasing to $930-950/mt and the price of 1 mm RAL 9002 moving up to $820-855/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, Turkish PPGI export prices have increased by $10/mt week on week to $915-925/mt FOB.
