During the week ending December 12, pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) quotations in the Chinese domestic market have indicated a stable trend, while overall transaction activity has remained quiet. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, there has not been any improvement in the sluggish demand situation in the domestic PPGI market, with bearish sentiment prevailing among local PPGI traders. Currently, with northeastern China in particular seeing very cold winter conditions, construction sites in the region have mostly suspended their operations, weakening demand for PPGI materials. In this context, supplies of PPGI have been flowing from the north into eastern China, while overall demand in the country continues to slacken. Due to a lack of orders, producers' capacity utilization rates have been at low levels. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will continue their stable trend in the coming week, while transaction activity may remain quiet up to the end of the year.
