During the week ending December 22, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have remained stable, while overall transaction activity in the market has been at decent levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, HDG prices in the domestic spot market have moved on a stable trend and transaction activity has been at decent levels. Meanwhile, HDG inventories are still on the low side and costs are at relatively high levels, which will provide support for HDG prices in the spot market. Moreover, the New Year holiday (December 31-January 2) is approaching and downstream buyers will increase their HDG purchases to replenish their stocks before the holiday. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move up on an upward trend in the coming week.
