According to market sources, domestic flat steel prices in Italy have decreased further in the past week. Domestic producers' hot rolled coil (HRC) base prices have fallen by €10/mt to €450-470/mt ($500-522/mt) ex-works. Meanwhile, cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have decreased by €10/mt on the lower end to €550-580/mt ($611-644/mt) ex-works, while hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have decreased by €7.5/mt on average to the range of €570-595/mt ($633-660/mt) ex-works, all compared to one week ago. Demand is still weak as local distributors are still buying only in line with their needs, though market sources indicate that prices may have reached the bottom.
