In the past week, Italian producers’ flat steel product prices for their domestic market have remained stable for the fourth consecutive week in the range of €430-450/mt ($482-504/mt), for hot rolled coil (HRC), €520-535/mt ($583-600/mt) for cold rolled coil (CRC) and at €520/mt ($583/mt) for hot dip galvanized (HDG), all ex-works.

European flat steel producers have been keeping their prices firm, even if there is increasing pressure from import offers, which are cheaper but require delivery times not shorter than four to five months. Buyers currently prefer to close deals with suppliers able to deliver not later than September.

In the meantime, demand for flat steel remains stable at medium-to-low levels both in Italy and in Europe in general.
